15. april 2011

On 12 April, a plan for development and operation (PDO) for the Vigdis North East field was submitted to Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.

The field was discovered in 2009 and is located about 5 km south of Snorre. The recoverable reserves of the Vigdis North East is 33 million barrels of oil equivalents, and production is expected to commence in December 2012.

The operator, Statoil, will develop the field with a subsea production system tied back to the Snorre A platform through the subsea facilities of the Vigdis field.

Idemitsu holds a 9.6 % share in the field, and partners include Petoro, ExxonMobil, Total and RWE Dea Norge AS.
