21st Licensing Round awards to Idemitsu

The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced on 15 April 2011 that Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS has been awarded partner shares in four licenses in the 21st Licensing Round.

Two of the licenses (PL 598 and 599) are located in the Norwegian Sea, while the remaining two (PL 609 and PL 614) are located in the Barents Sea. The four licenses collectively include 16 blocks or part-blocks.

“The 21st Round awards to Idemitsu are very welcome and bolster our presence in important areas in the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea. The awards fit very well into Idemitsu’s strategy and our long-term commitment to exploration on the Norwegian Continental Shelf”, comments Idemitsu Petroleum Norge’s Managing Director Teruyuki Takahashi.
